Happy 1+ year of creating edits again!

Since early September of 2025, I've gone back to posting edits on my fanworks Tumblr. I had thought I was done with posting on Tumblr in 2019 until I renewed my appreciation of its features for sharing images and videos. Far more ardently than back in the day, I've shared "original posts" every month for slightly more than a year. That's thanks to having a laptop with better specs than the old one I've held on to for ten years (more out of stubbornness than anything), organising timestamps and canon references with skills gained from my interest in Personal Knowledge Management (PKM) and nurturing obsessions with lesser known Japanese tokusatsu shows with hardly any fanworks of any kind.

Until my obsession in Special Rescue Exceedraft, I've never kept up with steadily posting edits for completed TV shows. But here I am with over 150 posts about the show as a whole and over 100 posts featuring my OTP! I'm having lots of fun creating Exceedraft GIFsets, which has become part of my Monday evening routine once I'm back after an exercise class and have little energy for doing other activities. I still don't use Photoshop or editing software modeled after Photoshop for creating GIFs, and as of now, I'm satisfied with the results of the GIFs created with the free version of PhotoScape X.

Whenever I post a GIFset, I actually ponder about why more people don't create them since it's more accessible and straightforward than other creative arts like writing or drawing. I suppose having to use a computer and having enough storage space would explain a big part of it. Frankly, while I'd gladly share the details behind creating my simple GIFs, I don't think I'm about to go out of my way to encourage others to take up graphic editing as I have occasionally tried to assist or cheer on the writing of fic. If I want a certain edit, I don't mind creating it myself and have a much milder craving to see others' visual fanworks based on the same interest. But of course seeing any would be a remarkable occasion!
