Elaborate Tokusatsu AUs

These are some AUs I had been obsessed with developing without really intending to write and post a complete story. In fact since I've prioritized ideas that I'm more likely to write and post, I've grown out of the habit of fleshing out in my head fic premises that are ambitious in scope and required time and mental energy to do them justice.

Kamen Rider Drive: Makage Soichi is the real father of Kiriko and Gou. After Freeze assumes Soichi's form, he abandons the Shijima siblings. Then after the death of Tomari Eisuke, Soichi adopts Shinnosuke and is somehow responsible for Shinnosuke becoming Drive. The rift between Kiriko and Shinnosuke widens as Shinnosuke inadvertently deprives Kiriko of not only the Rider belt, but also a father.

I had craved something fierce ShinKiri as a het version of a rival ship and have them grow as partners through working through a tangle of underlying resentment, genuine respect and affection in spite of background machinations and more than a smidge of physical attraction. It'd all amount to a fic lengthier and more emotional than most of the het offerings I've come across in Toku fandom O_O

Kamen Rider Ghost: Gundam 0079 Fusion focusing on the Fukamis as the Deikums and the Ganma royal family as the Zabis. Makoto as Char, Alain as Garma, Kanon as Sayla and Takeru as Amuro. Makoto betrays Alain like in the source canon but Alain survives.

Fusion AUs seem like a cheatcode for plot points and worldbuilding yet I haven't seen many of them around lately, even in larger fandoms that I poke around in.

Kishiryu Sentai Ryusoulger: What I think about as 'Ancestorverse' -- An eclipse brings about a time warp that throws my slash ship (Bamba/Canalo) back to the time of their ancestors while simultaneously, one of the ancestors crosses over to the present day to interact with my het ship (Asuna/Melt). Each ancestor is also supposed to be the past life of each Ryusoulger.

So basically:

Ryusoulger => Ancestor version
Bamba => Balba
Canalo => Kanalo (female)
Asuna => Osuno (male)
Melt => Felt

Canalo and Asuna's ancestor/past life are of a different sex to make Balba/Kanalo a het ship and Osuno/Felt as a slash ship. Part of my grand plan was to write my slash ship as het, and the same for my het ship. Also wanted to try recycling an AU verse for two different ships from the same show.

I haven't seen any of these series yet, but I love all these concepts! <3 The Gundam 0079 fusion with Ghost is a concept I especially love, since 0079 is one of my favorite anime of all time. :D Fusion AUs are really fun in general too!

Sometimes it's just fun to flesh out a concept in your head and put it down somewhere, I've done that before too. Especially since I don't have the time or mental energy to draw or write everything.

0079 and Gundam as a whole is a franchise I love a lot as well, and want to fuse with other canons. But alas it seems hard to nail down that space opera vibe especially for readers unfamiliar with Gundam tropes.

With the many separate shows in the different toku franchises, it seems like a no-brainer to come up with toku Fusion AU fics. Either a fusion with another franchise or a show within the franchise e.g. Ren and Shinji in the OOO world as Date and Gotou lol. I inspired my friend to write a few KR fusions but I don't think the idea has generally caught on.

Yeah just fleshing out elaborate concepts was what I used to do 24/7 XD From my adventures in K-Pop fandom, I encountered some ways to just write the bits I'm interested in (i.e. focussing on my OTP), so what seems to require a novel can just be manifested as a much shorter one-shot.

Of course!! I love reading about all sorts of things, especially things others are passionate about, even if im not familiar with it myself!

I really love gundam too! I need to see more entries, but I am a massive lover of space opera. (I feel my never ending passion for the Leijiverse shows that XD) It can be really hard to get those vibes down, I can relate!

Toku fusion AUs are so fun! I've been rotating a few ideas in my head over time myself. Such as the vibes of a Den-O and OOO one. I love to think about Ankh being Eiji's imagin and him being a singularity point. It would be also a lot of fun with the other greeed being involved too. I love the concept of Ren and Shinji as Date and Gotou too! I love how you were able to inspire your friend! It's so lovely and it makes me happy to hear. :D

Writing vignettes (or doodling some things if you do fanart!) of the bits you're most interested in for a concept is really fun and creatively fulfilling in its own right. I think it's easy to forget that fandom is a space where we can do that too, and not everything has to exactly be a fleshed out epic.

Such fun to imagine the greeeds possessing Eiji one by one! And all of them having to actually get along on the train. I've only watched a handful of Den-O episodes so have no idea how else to flesh out this fusion.

If you were to flip the premise and have Momotarou and Ryotaro be Ankh and Eiji, which actor would you cast as Momotaro's 'Shingo'?

It is so much fun! And Hina being the role Hana is would also be fun, since Hana also has a lot of unexplained strength that she can use to put a red angry monster in check like Hina has. XD It is such a fun concept to think about eiji having to work with all the greeed, and them all having to get along.

I had to really think about that. It's a good question! And given the humorous nature of Den-O, and how Shingo and Ankh share the same actor, Momotaro's "Shingo" I would pick to be played by Toshihiko Seki, his Seiyuu! I feel that would be perfect.
